Typhon Troubles
Reports from across the WarpedEarth now give partial explanation for the recent earthquakes felt in distant lands, coastal settlements, root-cities, polar holdings, and even the higher reaches of the floating realms.
The Typhon has shifted.
The seven Spiral Isles, long believed to have bound or steadied the storm since the end of the Third Age, have been removed from their ancient stations. Whether they were destroyed, displaced, stolen, or willingly unmoored remains uncertain. What is now clear is that their absence has allowed the Typhon to exert itself upon the world once more.
Landmasses surrounding the storm are now warping in and out of the world at irregular intervals. Current Scrivener observations suggest these disappearances and returns occur between one day and one week apart, though no stable pattern has yet been confirmed. During these periods, the Typhon itself appears to wax and wane, swelling in strength before falling back into a quieter, though no less threatening, state.
More alarming still, Scrivener measurements indicate that the north-south distance of the WarpedEarth has increased. The circumference, however, appears to have remained unchanged.
This should not be possible.
The Great Library has, so far, failed to provide any prophecy concerning the arrival of this phenomenon. Its Archivists remain silent on the matter, save for one troubling statement:
Sabotage was involved.
